5-STAR ACCREDITATION FROM U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

BRANDON- On behalf of its 1,800 business members, the Board of Directors and Staff of The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce that the United States Chamber of Commerce has awarded the organization with a 5-Star Accreditation. After the lengthy process, the Brandon Chamber became one of only 27 of the 6,936 chambers of commerce in the United States to have earned this prestigious 5-Star designation.

“The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce has prepared a very strong accreditation application documenting compliance going above and beyond minimum requirements throughout the process. This chamber and its volunteer leaders should be proud of its accomplishments,” stated the accreditation letter from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

What does accreditation mean? Accreditation means that the Brandon Chamber of Commerce is recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as offering quality programs, practicing sound organization procedures, and reliably contributing to positive change in the community. In order to receive accreditation, the Chamber had to demonstrate competency in nine distinct areas, including governance, finance, human resources, government affairs, program development, communication, technology and facilities.

Since 1964, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has invited state and local chambers of commerce to participate in its Accreditation Program. The program was designed to stimulate a continuous self-analysis of an organization’s growth and development with an opportunity to reassess its objectives, organization resources, program of work, procedures, and achievements.

The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce constantly strives to provide comprehensive programs and activities that improve business and build a better community.
